The updated IHI 30V4 mini-excavator is an all-purpose digging and earthmoving machine that provides improved performance and ergonomics over previous models.
Improvements to the IHI 30V4 include:
- 10 percent increase in digging force.
- 20 percent more legroom.
- 24 percent increased fuel savings from new auto idle and eco-mode features.
- 25 percent more cabin room.
While the IHI 30V4 continues to evolve, the compact mini excavator is still easy to operate. The monitor is easily visible at a glance, and features electronic indicators for travel speed, battery charge, engine oil pressure, ECO mode and auto idle, as well as the fuel gauge and hour meter.
Safety is built into the IHI 30V4 with its ROPS/TOPS compliant operator cab and canopy.
To reduce operator error and improve safety, all operations are blocked when the joystick lever is raised and locked, engaging an auto-parking brake in the swing and traction motors.
The 30V4’s standard18-inch bucket has a capacity of 3.2 cubic yards and a dig depth of nine feet ten inches – a perfect trenching tool for construction projects such as utility installations and golf course irrigation systems. Attach an articulating bucket on the arm, and the 30V4 is used for digging sand traps and clearing debris at a swing speed rate of up to nine cycles per minute. Other attachments include a hydraulic hammer, safe lock, thumb and various sized buckets.
The 30V4’s boom swing is for offset digging around obstacles or along foundations, walls or forms. A secondary use is cycling in areas too narrow for cab rotation. Independent boom swing is one of the major advantages of a compact excavator over other excavation equipment.
When working on sloped terrain, the 30V4 can safely and stably operate at up to a 30-degree incline.
The 30V4 is called compact for a reason. With a width of five feet, one inch track to track, and a height of eight feet, two inches, the mini-excavator can be maneuvered through large double-door openings to get inside of buildings or between obstacles on job sites.
Powered by a Yanmar 22.8-horse power diesel engine, the 30V4 has a maximum travel speed of three miles per hour – safe enough for a busy job site.
The 61 by 15 inch dozer blade has a maximum above-ground lift of 14.8 inches, and can dig below ground up to 17.3 inches. The blade grades, levels, backfills, trenches, and performs general dozer work.
