The Hamm H7i compactor is a small smooth roller that is used for compressing earth, gravel and stone working in confined job sites, as well as to build highways, roads, parking lots, and golf cart paths.
Measuring 14.4 feet long, the H7i is the world’s shortest compactor in its weight class (14,418 pounds). With its three-point center pivot assembly and short wheel base the H7i provides a 130-inch turning radius, responsive driving and handling; all of which are an advantage when compacting on confined construction sites.
When operated in working mode, the H7i’s standard 66-inch smooth-drum roller compacts the ground at up to 3.7 miles per hour. The unit can also be equipped with a padfoot drum and a VIO drum that is capable of compacting with either vibration or oscillation. Scraper blades can also be attached to the unit.
The rear wheels are driven by separate wheel motors and the drive system’s hydraulic slip control ensures continuous traction, enabling the H7i to climb up to a 32-degree slope and come down a 42-degree slope.
The spacious glassed-in cab provides a full 360-degree view of the work area. Operator controls are intuitively understandable and ergonomically designed for ease of use. The rear-view mirrors are easily accessible for cleaning or adjustment through two sliding windows.
Driven by a 74 horsepower Tier 4, stage IIIB Kubota engine, the H7i delivers sufficient power for most compacting jobs. The engine’s accessibility enables field mechanics to perform service quickly and efficiently.
